Recently, actor Robert Bogue, who previously participated in Grand Theft Auto V, shared his experience of an unsuccessful attempt to return with a new role in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI.
He previously played Steven “Steve” Haines — a corrupt FIB agent from Los Santos, whom the main characters encounter in the story. Now, to participate in GTA VI, the actor was ready for any scale of role: main or secondary — it didn't matter to him:
I'm a little upset with Rockstar right now. I had a great time working with them. [...] I really wanted to work on GTA VI. I probably auditioned for over 60 roles. Some were big, some were very small. I didn't care. I just wanted to be in the game. However, I didn't get any of them, and they never called me about those roles.
Notably, Robert Bogue had previously worked with Rockstar Games, voicing a character in an expansion for Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Revolver. Now the actor feels like “a man who fell in love with a girl, and then she just left him.”
He doesn't know why the GTA VI developers refused him:
I apologize for publicly putting Rockstar in a bad light by talking about the number of auditions I participated in, but that's the truth. Ultimately, an actor's life is constant rejection. It's just that sometimes everyone needs at least one win.
Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released in November of this year only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The developers have not yet announced a release date or window for the PC version of the game.
