Microsoft continues to port its games to Nintendo Switch 2. After The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which will be released on August 11, Diablo 4, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Minecraft has also received a release date.
The company confirmed that on October 27, 2026, Minecraft will be released on Nintendo Switch 2.
Owners of Minecraft for the first Nintendo Switch will receive a “digital upgrade path.” Details are promised to be revealed in the coming weeks, but it likely refers to a discounted upgrade to the version for the new console.
Microsoft also stated that on Switch 2, the game will by default use the Vibrant Visuals graphics mode. The only exception will be split-screen mode, where this feature will not be available.
