Capcom Wants to Replicate Resident Evil Requiem's Success. Veronica Will Be Next

Capcom expects to replicate the success of Resident Evil Requiem, which sold over 8 million copies and boosted sales of previous installments in the series.

Capcom announced that Resident Evil Requiem significantly increased interest in the entire series and boosted sales of older projects.

Now the company intends to repeat this effect with the release of Resident Evil Veronica.

According to Capcom's financial report, Resident Evil Requiem has sold over 8.06 million copies since its release in February. At the same time, sales of previous games in the series – Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Resident Evil Village – have increased.

During a meeting with investors, Capcom representatives stated that they want to continue the strategy: new games should attract players to older installments of the series.

Therefore, Resident Evil Veronica should play a similar role. Capcom plans to use the same marketing model to increase sales of the entire franchise.

An additional factor was player interest – Veronica on Steam has already received over 2 million additions to wishlists.
