Recently, dataminer blogger Lance McDonald showed gamers an early prototype of Demon's Souls. This version of the FromSoftware game was created approximately two years before its full release. At this stage, the game differed significantly from what buyers eventually received.

According to Lance McDonald, these materials date back to May 2007. At that time, Sony Computer Entertainment gathered materials and presentation assets for the "Gameshare 4" event in Tokyo, where they were to showcase their projects to receive feedback. Among these materials was a Demon's Souls presentation.

The materials show the game with not only a third-person camera, but also fragments with a first-person view.

Demon's Souls was positioned as a real-time action RPG for the PlayStation 3 console. The game's concept was described as "In the depths of lonely darkness, feel the warmth of life," and the story was briefly outlined: "Enter the dark ruins alone to reclaim the souls of your dead companions."

Currently, FromSoftware studio continues to cut games: this month, they will conduct network testing of The Duskbloods project on the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
