American Truck Simulator to Add "Points of Interest" - Mechanic Shown for Car DLC

News 0

The creators of the truck driver simulator American Truck Simulator have published a new development diary for the Road Trip mode. With it, players will have the opportunity to go on a journey in ordinary cars.

This time, SCS Software decided to talk about new elements that will appear in American Truck Simulator. The system is called Atlas and will be available to owners of any “car” add-on from the Road Trip line. The developers clarified that Atlas is not limited to cars only – it can also be used while driving a truck.

Players will be invited to explore the world of American Truck Simulator and look for attractions. In the Atlas system interface, you need to select “Tourist Boards”, after which a route will be built. Upon arrival, several locations will open for exploration. They are usually distributed throughout the surrounding region and showcase its most notable attractions.

The player's goal is to visit all locations associated with the selected tourist board. These include: Points of Interest, Viewpoints, and Photo Trophies.

Unlike viewpoints or photo trophies, players will not have to stop or activate a trigger at “points of interest” – it will be enough to simply drive through the designated area for the location to be marked as “explored” in the system.

In Atlas or the gallery, you can explore open points, and a camera “broadcast” will also be available. If the player's vehicle is parked nearby at that moment, it will be visible. As a reward for exploration, a postcard with a regional-style design will be given – it can be used as a cabin decoration.

The developers have not yet announced the release date for the Road Trip mode with ordinary cars for American Truck Simulator. You can add the Ford Car Pack and RAM & Dodge Car Pack add-ons to your Steam wishlist via this link and here.
