"Profit is more important than principles": In Steam, you can play a cyberpunk simulator of an illegal goods seller for free

Recently, Questing Goose Studio and tinyBuild announced the start of playtesting for Probably Stolen - Cyberpunk Pawnshop Simulator. Players will be able to get acquainted with the project before its full release.

Probably Stolen is positioned as a pawnshop simulator on a grim space station in a cyberpunk setting. Players will take on the role of a former scavenger who managed to acquire a small shop — helped by "a generously timed loan."

Now the protagonist is a businessman who is willing to do a lot for profit. You can sell, buy, and craft goods, as well as re-label fakes as originals, and trade illegal items (contraband and stolen goods). Rent is rising, and various factions are watching the players' actions.

The decisions made by the player regarding deals will affect their reputation and be reflected in the gameplay:

Different types of goods offer their own opportunities to earn and their own ways to lose everything: weapons entail inspections, water — responsibility, contraband — raids. Some crafts require heavy machinery and permits, others — only a good hiding place and the ability to keep a straight face. The higher the potential profit, the more serious the consequences will be when something goes wrong. You don't choose a field of activity, but the problems you are willing to profit from.
