Fighting game tournament published by PlayStation canceled due to PC version issues - MARVEL Tokon players will switch to PS5

News 0

MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls was recently released on PC and PlayStation 5. The publisher is Sony Interactive Entertainment / PlayStation Publishing, and the developer is Arc System Works, known for the Guilty Gear fighting franchise.

The PC version on Steam attracted players' attention - at launch, the peak online exceeded 24 thousand users, but the first reviews are "mixed", with a rating of 43% after more than 3 thousand reviews. The reason for dissatisfaction was technical problems, the use of PSN services, and the Easy Anti-Cheat, which blocks launching on Linux (Proton).

Due to problems with the PC version, the organizers of the MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls tournament decided to change the procedure for the event.

Representatives of Tampa Never Sleeps announced that participants would be offered to play only on consoles:

To provide gamers with a more positive and comfortable gaming experience, our MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls tournament will be held exclusively on PlayStation 5. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your support!

Some discussion participants joked that this was a cunning "Sony plan" to promote the PlayStation 5.
