Earlier this year, developer poncle, known for Vampire Survivors, announced a new project, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton. It offers an unconventional take on the "Jujutsu Kaisen" franchise.
Recently, poncle published a dev diary and decided to talk a bit about the project. It will be a game similar to Vampire Survivors, but with one feature – gamers will have access to an 8-player PvPvE "survivors royal" mode.
Each participant operates in their own world but will have the opportunity to interfere with rivals:
While players operate in their own world, they accumulate points by defeating curses and sorcerers, and every 100 points earned grants the right to choose a "Rule Change" that can affect the game for all participants. Some "Rule Changes" are simply INSANE, but for now, we are only revealing simple options that you can see in the trailer.
The "rule change" mechanic is not the only way to interact with other players. "Domain Expansion" and a special attack will also be available:
While you move your character, performing automatic attacks, your special attack also charges. Domain or Special Attack, when the charge is ready, you can use your character's special attack or, if the character has such an ability, Domain Expansion.
After the 15-minute "battle royale" concludes, the two players with the most points will face each other in a 19-second duel.
poncle clarified that despite its online focus, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton can also be played solo, in mission mode, just like Vampire Survivors.
You can add Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton to your Steam wishlist via this link. The exact release date for the game has not yet been announced, but the release window is known to be 2026. The new "Jujutsu Kaisen" title will be released not only on PC but also on consoles such as Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 (PS5), and Xbox Series X|S.
