The Sims 4 Improves Optimization, Store, Saves, and Returns Lot Tax

News 0

This summer, Maxis introduced a major technical update for the life simulator The Sims 4. The developers improved optimization and the save system.

The studio continues to refine these features in August. A small update was recently introduced, which included bug fixes, a repaired in-game store, and more.

  • The default frequency for save reminders is now set to "every 2 hours." Previously, reminders were disabled until players intervened.
  • Autosaving when exiting build mode and moving between lots has become more intuitive.
  • The countdown to autosave or save reminder no longer resets when moving between lots.

In addition, The Sims 4 developers fixed a bug where manual saves would sometimes overwrite other manual saves.

This happened if you loaded an autosave of a game you had previously saved manually, and then manually saved again. The game would automatically save in the slot of the last manual save, even if it wasn't the save you currently had loaded.

In addition, The Sims 4 developers brought back the tax in the "For Rent!" DLC and fixed the store:

  • Lot tax has reappeared in rental property bills.
  • The countdown to the start of the workday, school classes, and extracurricular activities no longer freezes at "0 minutes."
  • The update fixes the cause of crashes due to caching.
  • Fixed a bug where "Discoveries" menu tabs would shift, and empty areas would appear in the menu.
  • When navigating from the "Gallery" to the page of an unavailable kit or pack in the store, the "Something went wrong" error should no longer occur.
