Strauss Zelnick stated that in three years, low-latency game streaming will become commercially available and capable of expanding the industry's potential user base.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick believes that streaming will become a full-fledged alternative to gaming devices in just three years.
With the advent of streaming, which we truly believe is just around the corner in terms of low latency and good performance for consumers – devices that were not previously gaming devices will become gaming devices. Therefore, we see a significant increase in the user base.
If you believe in streaming, and we truly do, I am ready to give a timeframe. I think in three years, we will be in commercial streaming mode. By commercial, I mean low latency. This could increase the effective user base by 10 times.
Zelnick clarified:
This does not mean that our revenue will grow 10 times. We would not predict such a thing, as our most active consumers already have access to gaming devices.
According to him, streaming will open up opportunities for games that appeal to a wide audience.
