In August, the Polish holding company, well-known to gamers, marked the beginning of a new chapter in its history. The name "CD PROJEKT S.A." became a thing of the past. This is just a formality — work continues as usual:
Sharing news: as of August 10, 2026, our company's name has changed from CD PROJEKT S.A. to CD PROJEKT RED S.A. This is solely a name change. The company remains the same legal entity, and all registration and contact details remain unchanged.
Many gamers have long called it "CD Projekt RED," so it won't take long to get used to the new name.
In addition, in August, the developers recently celebrated another event — International Cat Day. In honor of this, they addressed players on social media and showed off some cats:
Yesterday we celebrated International Cat Day, and today we want to introduce you to our colleagues with paws. They don't code, don't make models, and don't calculate budgets. Their task is much more important — to lie on the keyboard, knock things off the table, leave fur on sweaters, and morally support those who code, make models, and calculate budgets. They didn't have to sign an NDA, but we know they won't tell anyone anything. Unless they purr.
Currently, CD Projekt RED is working on the new The Witcher 4, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and an expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
