The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been released on Switch 2, and initial tests have shown unexpected results. Despite the game's issues on more powerful devices, it performs better than expected on the Nintendo console.
Developers had to make compromises. The settings are lower than on older consoles, but the image quality surpasses minimal PC settings. DLSS provides an unexpectedly sharp image, which in this regard even outperforms the Xbox Series S.
The game targets 30 FPS. The frame rate cannot be called completely stable: drops are most noticeable when exploring open locations.
Compared to the Steam Deck, the Nintendo console uses approximately low to medium settings. Valve's device reduces graphics more significantly and uses FSR in Performance mode. Thanks to DLSS, Switch 2 significantly wins in image clarity.
This is not the best version in terms of graphics or performance, but optimization for a single configuration allowed for a good result.
