The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered recently launched on Nintendo Switch 2. Previously, the project was released on PC and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

For the Nintendo platform release, developers implemented optimizations into the game, which they plan to add to other versions as well. Bethesda Game Studios recently confirmed plans to release updates:

We've seen your messages requesting an additional patch for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game contains a number of optimizations, and we are considering implementing them on other platforms. We will share news as soon as we are ready.

Players of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on other platforms have long complained about technical issues. The last patch for the game was released last summer — fans have already marked a sad "anniversary without updates." This announcement from Bethesda Game Studios instilled hope in those who bought the remaster.

The overall rating for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Steam is 75%, with reviews being "mostly positive." However, due to persistent technical issues, recent reviews have shifted to the "mixed" category.
