This is not a confirmation of a new game, but the phrase quickly sparked a wave of rumors. Kamiya led the development of the first Devil May Cry, released in 2001. Initially, the project was conceived as a prototype for Resident Evil 4 and eventually evolved into a standalone series.
Capcom has not yet revealed plans for Devil May Cry. A remake of the first installment and Devil May Cry 6 remain rumors. Kamiya's statement gives fans new reason to anticipate the series' return.
