Despite mixed reviews for Borderlands 4, especially among PC players, Take-Two sees no cause for concern. The publisher claims that the game is showing expected sales results and remains one of Gearbox Software's key projects.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that player criticism has not affected plans for the game's development. According to him, the company is satisfied with sales and ratings, and will therefore continue to release add-ons.
In late July, Bounty Pack 4: Murders and Acquisitions was released with a new mission, a Vault Hunter skin, and a legendary sniper rifle. On September 10, Bounty Pack 5 will be released with a new Vault Hunter named Loveless and the story add-on Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort.
However, the game has mixed reviews on Steam. Players criticize the PC version's optimization, the small amount of content in paid DLCs, and statements by Gearbox head Randy Pitchford. Some even believe that add-ons should be given away for free as compensation for technical issues.
Take-Two emphasizes that Borderlands 4 is meeting business expectations.
