Papers, Please + SCP: Alawar Releases Horror Guard Simulator for Area 51 in Steam

In Security 51, questions may arise not only for those who arrive at the facility, but also for those who try to leave it.

In August, Alawar released a new game, Security 51, for PC on Steam. This time, gamers are invited to take on the role of a security officer deep within Area 51.

From a gameplay perspective, Security 51 is reminiscent of the famous Papers, Please: you need to scan personnel, check clearances, and decide whether to allow a person into the elevator.

Each visitor passing through the security post brings documents, passes, or verbal instructions. Gamers will not only have to ensure that the number of people entering and exiting matches, but also to note “strange little things” about visitors:

These could be incorrect answers, behavior “not according to instructions,” hesitant speech, or even “too perfect” documents. The further you go, the more often you will catch yourself thinking that something is wrong — and the only thing you have left are protocols. But even they can be wrong.

The developers noted that as the game progresses, the guard will have increasingly accurate ways to verify identity. For example, the protagonist will be able to check fingerprints and perform blood analysis.
