Genshin Impact 7.0 Changed Russian Localization and Added Snezhnaya - a Region in the Spirit of Russia

The developers of Genshin Impact introduced update 7.0 (or “Relentless Frost”) in August. It adds not only new content to the game but also includes technical changes and localization fixes.

miHoYo (HoYoverse) announced “important changes” in the Russian localization. Developers usually disclose details, but in this case, they limited themselves to the general phrasing “Dialogue texts improved.”

Snezhnaya has finally appeared in the game — a new region to explore, which reminds many players of Russia. In one of the developer diaries, Genshin Impact developers noted that Snezhnaya “bears similarities to real-life Eastern Europe and regions adjacent to the Arctic Circle.”

The creators of Genshin Impact also talked about new characters and the Traveler (Cryo):

• Odette (5-star rarity, Cryo, One-Handed Weapon) — a support character who allows party members to trigger Star Guide and Star Dispersion reactions, continuously deals Starfall reaction damage off-field, and continuously provides allies with Cryo effect and increased Starfall reaction damage.
• Alyosha (4-star rarity, Electro, Polearm) — a support character who heals allies and periodically deals Electro damage.
• Cryo Traveler (5-star rarity). After resonating with Cryo, the Traveler allows the party to activate Starfall reactions, and can also deal damage off-field and during rotation. The developers noted that in the “Shining - Star Guide” status, their capabilities as an active attacking character are revealed.
