A military city-building simulator about the Warring States period in Ancient China has been released on Steam
In August, Digital Sky studio released Mandate Order on PC via Steam in "early access" format. The new game is positioned as a military city-building simulator.
The game's events will unfold during the Warring States period of Ancient China. Players will engage in genre-familiar activities: building a fortress, developing logistics and production, commanding an army, and hiring "thinkers of the Hundred Schools" – advisors from Confucianism, Taoism, Mohism, Legalism, the military school, and many other directions will be available.
The developers noted that Mandate Order features a "gridless" construction system, as well as agricultural mechanics and an annual cycle that affects gameplay:
The game features advanced systems for farming, construction, mining, and production. A full annual cycle – spring plowing, summer crop care, autumn harvest, and winter reserves – affects not only the visual atmosphere but also city management, resources, and the pace of military campaigns.
The creators of Mandate Order explained that by "drawing lines with the mouse," players will be able to deploy combat formations and implement tactics of encirclement, breakthrough, assault, or defense: "Chariot attacks, fortress defense, battlefields with thousands of soldiers, and a pseudo-physical knockback system create a more spectacular and immersive sense of ancient warfare."
The Mandate Order Steam page is available at the following link. A 15% release discount will be active until August 25. The developers expect their game to remain in early access for approximately 12 months, but noted that these dates may be adjusted: "When the main content, overall stability, and long-term gameplay experience meet our standards for the full version, Mandate Order will officially transition to version 1.0."
