Multiplayer is being developed for Gothic 1 Remake - testing of the mode announced
Modders are working on a platform that will allow community servers to be created.
This summer saw the release of Gothic 1 Remake. Many enjoyed the single-player game — the project received “very positive” reviews on Steam (an 88% rating), but some would like to travel with friends.
This could become possible thanks to the fan project Gothic 1 Remake: Multiplayer (or G1R: MP). The author of the YouTube channel F0rtuno announced that multiplayer will be available “soon.” This project is a base for custom servers, with its help, fans of “Gothic” will be able to jointly explore the Valley of Mines, form guilds, and travel.
The launch of the first alpha version of Gothic 1 Remake multiplayer is scheduled for the current month. Modders warn players against inflated expectations: the early “alpha” build is not intended to be the final version of the multiplayer platform with all features — it is just an important stage in the project's development history. Bugs and imperfections may occur.
The fan multiplayer for Gothic 1 Remake does not yet have a specific release date. It is expected that the project files will be published in open access after the network synchronization stability tests are completed.
