The remake of the first part of the space saga Halo: Campaign Evolved, according to analyst Rhys Elliot, sold 1.2 million copies in the month after its release. The game was supposed to open a new chapter in the series and attract many new players.
The release was overshadowed by technical problems and an unfortunate timing, as the game had to compete for audience attention with new Call of Duty installments. Total revenue was estimated at approximately $67 million. Even its availability on Game Pass didn't save the numbers: about 2 million subscribers launched the game.
According to the analyst, sales were almost equally distributed between PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A few more percent came from PC on Steam. However, the release of Halo on Sony consoles did not cause the expected excitement.
Perhaps the result was influenced by the absence of fan-favorite multiplayer and a relatively high starting price, especially against the backdrop of previous collections in the series that were richer in content.
