The Coalition and People Can Fly are preparing to launch the second weekend of the Gears of War: E-Day open beta. Before players return to the servers, the developers published a list of fixes.
The update takes into account feedback from the first tests. Developers improved game performance on Xbox Series S, increased stability across all platforms, and fixed network connectivity issues.
Changes also affected weapon balance. In particular, the Prototype Lancer received more base damage, but the bonus for perfect reload was reduced.
Hit registration in the cooperative Horde Siege mode was also changed, anti-cheat protection was improved, and a mass ban of detected violators was carried out.
On PC, developers recommend using an SSD. HDDs may cause issues with texture loading, stuttering, and crashes to the desktop. Video card driver recommendations have also been updated.
The team improved matchmaking in competitive modes, detection of third-party controllers in Steam, and fixed Microsoft account linking errors.
