Crimson Desert creators return to DokeV. The game will be released in 2028
After several years of silence surrounding DokeV, new details have emerged. Pearl Abyss confirmed that more and more developers are joining the team working on the colorful open-world creature-collecting game.
DokeV was announced in 2019 simultaneously with the first trailer for Crimson Desert. Most of the studio's resources went into developing the project, which was released in March 2026. Now, Pearl Abyss is bringing employees back to DokeV.
In a letter to investors, the company stated that development is on track, and the release is still scheduled for the second half of 2028. The exact number of developers was not disclosed.
An active marketing campaign will start later. New materials will be released as the project develops, and full presentations, gameplay, and a demo are expected in the second half of 2027.
DokeV is an open-world action-adventure game where players collect mysterious creatures called Dokebi. The game features a vibrant style and lighthearted atmosphere. Conceptually, it is often compared to Pokémon. Pearl Abyss emphasizes world exploration, dynamic battles, and freedom of action.
