Recently, a modder known as Nethalythic presented a large-scale project for Fallout 4 that transforms the Bethesda Game Studios game into a roguelike. This is the result of Nethalythic's collaboration with the community of YouTube channel author ItsJabo.
The blogger's viewers offered their ideas — they sent drawings of rooms, and then the modder brought their ideas to life using the Creation Kit toolset and assembled them.
Players will fight in random rooms, and enemies will gradually become stronger. During the playthrough, players can find or buy special "Jabo Juice," after consuming which they are offered to choose one of three random perks (over a hundred have been created in total).
ItsJabo showed examples of the resulting rooms:
Players will be able to periodically visit shops to stock up on gear — regular and legendary weapons and armor, crafting materials, and more will be available.
The "Jabo's Community's Fallout 4 Roguelike" modification for Fallout 4 is distributed for free via Nexus Mods. The modder is studying player feedback — he has already released several updates with improvements and fixed a number of technical issues.
