Halo Studios has announced a major update for Halo: Campaign Evolved, which will be released between August 17 and 21. The patch will fix the most common issues since release and add long-awaited gameplay and graphics changes.
The developers named five main changes:
- fixed Sergeant Johnson's AI behavior – he will no longer block mission progression;
- Jackals will be easier to stun when hit in the arms or legs;
- Marines and infected Marines will correctly use assault rifles with the Magnified Skull modifier active;
- the ability to disable chromatic aberration and film grain effect will be added;
- improved game stability on all supported platforms.
The studio also warned: after installing the update, all saves made during missions will stop working. Players currently progressing through levels, especially on high difficulty, are advised to complete their current stages before the patch is released to avoid losing progress.
The update should help the game regain the trust of some of its audience. Despite good critical reviews, Halo: Campaign Evolved did not achieve expected sales figures, especially on PS5.
