Intel acknowledges the crisis with component availability in the PC market. The company decided to follow AMD's example and bring back old processors. This was stated by Intel representative Robert Hallock in an interview.
We are talking about Raptor Lake processors, known as Intel Core 13th and 14th generations. They use the LGA 1700 socket and support both the scarce DDR5 and the more affordable DDR4. Some motherboards allow the use of both types of memory, which simplifies PC assembly.
According to Hallock, the most popular Raptor Lake models will reappear in stores. Among them is the Core i5-14600K. Intel expects to increase supplies and bring prices back to a more adequate level.
At the same time, the company is not going to postpone new processors. Intel Core Ultra 400 (Nova Lake) is expected to be released as planned in the first half of 2027.
