Blizzard took away a rare World of Warcraft mount from players for violating "in-game policy"

News

Developers checked the mount owners and found that some obtained it illegally.

Recently, World of Warcraft fans began reporting that developers had deprived some community members of the rare mount Ashes of Belo'ren. It can be obtained from the "Midnight Fete; in the Mythic mode of "March on Quel'Danas".

Blizzard Entertainment sent these individuals "letters of happiness," informing them of a violation of "in-game policies" (rules) and announcing the removal of rewards:

Hello. During a recent review, we found that one or more rewards obtained on this account are associated with activity that violates our in-game policies. Therefore, we have removed these rewards from your account. Sincerely, Blizzard Entertainment.

According to comments from World of Warcraft community members, some affected users may have used the services of boosters — people who, for virtual (and sometimes real) money, help with raids and dungeons, and also help obtain rare items. However, this has not yet been confirmed, so the reasons for removing the "Ashes of Belo'ren" mount from accounts are not fully clear.
