GTA VI-style game prototype assembled in 24 hours - developer showcases AI technology capabilities
Developer Hakimi Eiqbal recently shared the results of his large-scale experiment on social media. He leveraged artificial intelligence to automatically develop a video game.
For his work, he used "Claude Opus 5" – the AI "spent 24 hours trying to create GTA VI on its own." The developer explained that after the initial prompt, the agent (an autonomous AI program) began making decisions independently, including choosing the setting (city), districts, roads, buildings, cars, NPCs, and weather.
The result, he said, was "rough, but that's what makes it interesting." He noted the progress of technology: "AI agents are starting to 'hold' larger and larger game projects in their minds during long autonomous sessions."
The trailer for Hakimi Eiqbal's project can be viewed at the following link. The "game" models may glitch, and cars jump on the road.
The full release of Grand Theft Auto VI by Rockstar Games is expected in November of this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The developers have not yet announced the release date or window for the PC version of the game.
