The extended four-minute Kingdom Hearts IV trailer revealed new game details. In some episodes, players will be able to control King Mickey. He uses the Keyblade to interact with the environment, which unfolds like a book. A side-scrolling platforming segment and a moment with a giant papier-mâché Mickey breaking through obstacles were also shown.
Donald and Goofy will also have playable segments. In the Underworld, they battle Heartless, slide down slopes with lava flows, and use a joint attack. The heroes will also travel to the Land of the Dead and, it seems, will be without Sora, although he will be able to see their spirits.
What happens to the Heartless in Quadratum and which other Keyblade wielders are helping Sora is still unknown.
Kingdom Hearts IV will be released in late 2027 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
