Owners of Steam Deck with an LCD screen are in for an unpleasant surprise. The iFixit store, which sells official components for the portable console, has sharply increased the price of the battery.
The battery for the Steam Deck LCD now costs €184.95. Initially, it was sold for $79.99, and at the beginning of the month, the price rose to $129.99. Meanwhile, the battery for the OLED version costs €64.95, so it was not affected by the price increase.
Valve and iFixit have not yet explained the sharp increase in cost. The batteries on the website indeed come from the official Steam Deck supply chain.
