Recently, a modder known as null234 revisited Arkane Studios' 2017 game Prey. He decided to turn the single-player immersive sim into a cooperative game.
He offers players to go through the story campaign together. The modification will synchronize global progression, user decisions, AI enemies, inventory, door states, various threats, and game world physics between connected clients (players).
The modification, aptly named "Prey Coop" for Prey (2017), is distributed for free via Nexus Mods. The modder emphasizes that an "alpha version" is currently available. The campaign can already be completed from start to finish on both new and old saves, but visual imperfections, such as glitchy animations, and other errors may occur.
Some owners of "good computers" complained that they observe a drop to 15-20 FPS (or even lower) in cooperative mode, while in single-player they get a stable 60 frames. null234 plans to study feedback and refine the co-op.
