Publisher Strategy First continues to release various old projects on PC via Steam. Recently, they remembered the shooter You Are Empty.
The project is titled You Are Empty: Absolute Edition. The events unfold in an alternative 1950s: "Most of the city's population has mysteriously disappeared, and eerie monsters roam the abandoned streets. Can you find out the cause of the catastrophe and fix everything?".
"You Are Empty: Absolute Edition" will be adapted for modern systems, receive a number of improvements, and Steam achievements:
- Support for modern and classic gamepads with 3 presets to choose from (thanks to SDL).
- Loading times reduced by approximately 800%, graphical errors and crashes eliminated.
- Full support for all current resolutions and adaptation of game code for any widescreen displays.
- Game interface, menus, weapons, and videos no longer stretch and automatically adjust to any resolution.
- Support for anti-aliasing up to 8x MSAA and anisotropic filtering up to 16x.
- Frame rate adjustment.
- Reduced camera sway.
A "run" (sprint) function will also appear. The developers warned that the game was not designed with sprinting in mind, so "when this option is enabled, the pace of the game may feel unusual in some places".
You can add "You Are Empty: Absolute Edition" to your Steam wishlist via this link. The game will also be available on Zoom Platform. The release is expected on October 26, 2026.
