Mortal Shell II is receiving high praise from the media and has shown an impressive start on Steam. The game even temporarily surpassed Counter-Strike 2 and is currently ranked slightly below it.
The full release is scheduled for August 20, and the project was released in early access for owners of the expensive Devout edition. User ratings on Steam currently stand at 88%. At its peak, Mortal Shell II gathered over 23,000 concurrent players.
The game runs on Unreal Engine 5. Fuzion Xbox Testing checked the console version on Xbox Series X and Series S. On both consoles, a 60 FPS mode is available, and the frame rate consistently stays at this level.
Graphics and performance were also tested on PS5 and PS5 Pro. On PS5 Pro, due to a bug, film grain and chromatic aberration cannot be disabled, which slightly degrades the final image.
