Tekken creators reunite. Harada and Ikeda are working on a new game
Kohei Ikeda, who previously led the development of Tekken 8, has joined VS Studio, a new studio under SNK, founded by Katsuhiro Harada.
Kohei Ikeda has officially joined VS Studio, a new studio founded by Katsuhiro Harada under SNK.
The two developers, who played key roles in the development of the Tekken series, will once again work together, this time outside of Bandai Namco.
Harada left Bandai Namco at the end of 2025 after more than 30 years of working on Tekken. A few months later, Kohei Ikeda, who became the director of Tekken 8 after Harada's departure, also left the company.
Ikeda spoke about this new stage in his career on social media:
I have joined VS Studio as the next stage of my career. Working with my former leaders on new games is incredibly enjoyable. I can't wait to see what we create together.

It is not yet known what position he will take or what game the team is working on. VS Studio SNK Co., Ltd. was founded on May 1, 2026, as a subsidiary of SNK. It is headed by Harada.
The studio will focus on future SNK projects, including new brands and unusual ideas. The first joint project between Harada and Ikeda has not yet been revealed.
