In August, the developers of the PlayStation 4 emulator for PC, named "shadPS4," announced the release of a major update 0.18. The update includes a number of technical improvements, as well as various fixes that address bugs in some PlayStation games.

They rewrote kernel event flags; added a function that fixes a compatibility issue with 12th generation Intel processors and newer on Windows PCs (previously, crashes occurred); fixes were also made to various project libraries.

The emulator creators addressed the players:

The update also includes several other GPU-related fixes, such as shadow fixes in Persona franchise games or certain effects in games like inFAMOUS and Gravity Rush 2. It is likely that other games were also affected by these fixes, but finding that out is up to you, the testers and users.

The author of the YouTube channel Christo Gevedjov conducted extensive testing of update 0.18 for shadPS — he checked 16 games, including Bloodborne, Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, God of War 3 Remastered, Gravity Rush 2, The Order 1886, Uncharted 3 Remastered, as well as Gravity Rush Remastered.

For the launch, Christo Gevedjov used a PC with a Ryzen 5 7500F 3.7 Ghz and an ASRock Intel Arc B580 Steel Legend OC 12GB GDDR6 graphics card — on this build, he achieved 90 FPS in Bloodborne, while Uncharted 3 Remastered ran at 30-40 frames, but sometimes dropped to 20-25.
