Bethesda Game Studios teases the next update for Fallout 76. Along with the release of Season 26, Beware of the Blood Moon, the developers will also implement technical improvements for console versions.
The creators of Fallout 76 said they are preparing a “Gen 9 boost” for players on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, which will also benefit owners of older consoles:
All console players will receive performance, stability, and visual quality improvements. This update will also give our team the opportunity to further optimize the version for each platform individually.
In addition, they talked about the content “The Slasher.” The developers promise a “frightening event” that will unfold over several weeks. Players will have to “search for clues, dig up unmarked graves, and fight off fanatics who have overrun the map.” The finale is expected to be a confrontation with an “imposter” and there will be an opportunity to obtain unique power armor and the “Super Slasher” weapon.
Bethesda Game Studios will also give players the opportunity to unleash the potential of their arsenal by changing legendary mods on any of the 80+ unique weapon models.
The release of the Fallout 76 update is scheduled for September 15, 2026.
