First Look at Vodyanitsa - Genshin Impact 7.1 Heroine Who Transforms into a Mermaid
Genshin Impact developers continue to tease new features for update 7.1. They recently showcased Vesna, and now a selection of shots with another new heroine has appeared.
The spotlight is on Vodyanitsa — a girl with the Hydro element. In the published art, she looks "normal," just like in the teaser trailer, but it's not that simple.
Dataminers have already delved into the game files and found out that Vodyanitsa can transform into a mermaid — with a fully animated fish tail (in this state, she "flies" above the ground). She will also walk "on her own two feet" like many other characters.
The developers themselves haven't revealed anything about Vodyanitsa's gameplay mechanics yet, but they have provided a lore description:
In ancient times, the entire city of Snezhnaya was inhabited by water spirits and mermaids: some performed on stage with beautiful hymns, others sang cheerful couplets in the streets and alleys, while still others loved to hide underwater and lure curious passersby to the very shore with their enchanting songs, only to suddenly emerge and douse them with water from head to toe, and then, amidst indignant shouts and the laughter of onlookers, dive back underwater, splash their tails, and disappear. ...But with the passage of time, the stages and alleys of Snezhnaya imperceptibly lost their singers. The melodies that lived underwater, along with dark currents, silently flowed into the silent distance. People wondered with alarm: perhaps the mysterious underwater songs had left them forever... But one morning it became known that Vodyanitsa still performed on the stage of the Royal Theater — as if the old times had never left, as if the former joys were still alive.
Genshin Impact 7.1 update is expected to be released next month.
