Cult, Madness, and the Spanish Inquisition. An Unusual Strategy Game The Lunacy Announced

News 0

The creators of Above the Snow have unveiled a new game – The Lunacy: That Game About a Cult. It's a strategy game about managing a cult, set during the Spanish Inquisition. The historical setting will form the basis for an absurd adventure story with dark humor.

Players will take on the role of a prophet convinced they've contacted ancient gods. You'll need to create your own cult and build an underground temple beneath the city, equipping it with altars, benches, and piles of skulls. You'll also conduct rituals and develop the community through sermons.

Followers can be sent on expeditions through the Renaissance city. They will gather resources, spy, steal, preach, and fish, trying to avoid the Inquisition and local bandits. The developers promise hundreds of events with unpredictable consequences.

As the cult develops, it will be possible to influence residents and capture new areas. At the same time, the prophet's mental state will affect the game and the perception of the world. The question will remain: do ancient gods truly exist, or is everything happening just madness?

The Lunacy: That Game About a Cult does not yet have a release date. The game is available on Steam for wishlisting.
