For a GTA VI release weekend, dozens of soldiers signed a contract with the US Army

News 1

It recently became known about a specific promotion related to Grand Theft Auto VI. The US Army decided to use the interest in the new installment for its own purposes: they offered soldiers several days off for the game's release as an incentive for signing a contract.

Currently, this offer is valid for the 9th Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart. Servicemen who extend their contract for at least two years (maximum term is six years) will be eligible for the days off.

In total, about 130 soldiers could potentially claim such a bonus. A US Army representative told CBS News that twenty servicemen from the 9th Engineer Battalion have already taken advantage of this offer.

The bonus leave, timed for the release of GTA VI, will last four days. According to the command's plan, such an incentive will help with staffing and also boost the morale of the soldiers.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not yet announced the release date or release window for the PC version of the game.
