New Fortnite Season Surprises Players with Number of Bots

In the new Fortnite season, the number of bots in Battle Royale matches has reportedly increased to 75%, meaning real players may only account for a quarter of participants.

Fortnite has long faced a bot problem: 100 players are required to start a Battle Royale match, so AI fills some of the spots. Now, the situation may have become even more serious.

User Au5la, after the release of the Override season, discovered that the number of real opponents had decreased to 25. Insider SpushFNBR noted that previously the proportion of bots was 35%, and now it has potentially more than doubled.

It is not yet known whether the 75% figure applies to every match. Further testing is ongoing, but the bot limit seems to have indeed been increased.

Players who are annoyed by bots are advised to try ranked mode, where there should be fewer of them. Epic likely increased the number of AI opponents to speed up matchmaking.
