According to Reuters, Samsung has increased the cost of several silicon wafers it produces by up to 15% due to rising production costs. The price of 8nm wafers, which are used in Switch 2, has increased by 10%.
Nintendo will have to buy these components at a higher price, and such costs are usually passed on to customers. The company has already raised the price of Switch 2 – the new price will take effect in September.
TheGamer suggests that the console may become even more expensive in the future – by next year, the price of Switch 2 could reach $549.99.
