A year ago, developer Evil Empire unexpectedly pulled the game from early access and released version 1.0 on PC and some consoles. Several months later, it was released on Nintendo Switch. The game received good reviews from critics, though it did not become a major commercial hit.
Now, the developers have announced that since its early access launch in spring 2024, The Rogue Prince of Persia has been visited by over a million players. This refers to the number of players, not copies sold: some of the audience gained access through Ubisoft+ and Game Pass services.
Evil Empire plans to celebrate this achievement with an anniversary update. It will be released on all platforms on September 17, 2026. What exactly will be included in the update has not yet been announced.
