Electronic Arts support announced that it will shut down two more of its projects at the end of August. Earlier this month, Apex Legends servers for Nintendo Switch were disabled, and now it's the turn of a couple of projects from a well-known sports franchise.

NHL hockey simulator servers are expected to be shut down on August 31:

  • NHL 22 – for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S consoles
  • NHL 23 – for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S consoles

Players of NBA LIVE Mobile – a basketball simulator – have received a notification that online services will be shut down on October 27 of this year.

Electronic Arts also reminded that on September 11, Grid Legends servers for Xbox One, Xbox X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 consoles will be shut down. The racing game was released in 2022 and received several add-ons with new cars, story missions, tracks, and cosmetic content.

The next installment of the NHL 27 franchise will be released in September – developers have already opened pre-orders and shared some details about the project:

On the ice, gameplay is built around each team's authentic style thanks to 32 unique NHL game schemes based on NHL EDGE data. Teams now play with a more recognizable structure: from how they exit their zone to how they pressure on special teams and adapt at the end of intense matches. The result is more authentic matches where each team feels different, and strategy matters in every shift.

The regular release of NHL 27 is expected on September 11, with early access provided for owners of premium editions.
