Ori Creator Responds to Rumors of a Third Installment and Recalls Xbox's Halo Failures

Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps were enjoyed by many players and received numerous positive reviews. Some fans have long been waiting for a new installment in the franchise, and recently they had a glimmer of hope.

NateTheHate, well-known in the gaming community, recently announced the development of a "new Ori." However, he currently has no confirmed information on whether the project will be shown at the upcoming Gamescom exhibition or not.

Thomas Mahler, the creator of the original Ori, reacted to the discussions on the social network – he hadn't heard anything about a third Ori installment:

Again, a bunch of people are asking me about Ori 3 because there are all sorts of rumors... As before: I haven't heard anything about it.

The developer also took the opportunity to poke fun at Microsoft (Xbox):

I think after Microsoft poured billions into 343 Industries to make Halo, and they still couldn't bring back the old magic of the series, I assume Microsoft has learned their lesson by now: such franchises need the right talent to work on them, otherwise you're bound to get even more slop.

In addition, Mahler noted that Moon Studios is still considering buying back the rights to the Ori franchise:

I doubt any other studio could really do anything with it, so it makes sense for this franchise to come home – to Moon!
