The scandalous classic Postal 2 will soon return in an updated format. Recently, Running With Scissors, Flat2VR, Team Beef, and Impact Reality announced the release window for the Postal 2 Redux project.
The initial announcement of Postal 2 Redux took place last year, and a Kickstarter campaign was also launched then. However, some people only noticed the project now, when information about its imminent launch appeared.
For example, user bee expressed the opinion that some content should be removed from the game and made "something interesting":
I think Postal 2 is the perfect game for a remake because all the racism and disgusting political messages scattered throughout the game make it simply unbearable to play! I would love to play a version that actually had something interesting. I always found the concept of a game where you can just wander around the city and do all sorts of nonsense very interesting. It's just a shame that this game was created by ********-racists.
Running With Scissors reacted:
There are plenty of other games you can play that have been artfully crafted to offend as few people as possible. If the original [Postal 2] offends you, the remake will offend you just as much.
During a discussion with bee, the developers stated:
You want the game to be remade for your specific needs, ignoring everyone else's opinions. It seems that Postal is not for you, but you still try to impose your opinion [...] It's funny to discuss Postal with people who have barely played even one part of the series, but are so eager to complain about these games.
Postal 2 Redux is initially expected to be released in spring 2027 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and will be available on VR platforms. The game will run on the Unity 6 engine and will receive a number of gameplay and technical improvements, such as no loading screens; errors leading to crashes will be eliminated.
