New expansion for The Witcher 3 will require modern hardware

The new expansion is expected to be the final continuation of Geralt's story and possibly a link to the next installment in the series. The full reveal will take place in a few days at Gamescom 2026.

Songs of the Past is being developed for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Owners of older consoles will have to upgrade their devices to continue the adventures of the White Wolf.

Restrictions may also affect some PC users. Developers are gradually moving away from Windows 10 in favor of Windows 11, and although games run perfectly well on the old operating system, future patches or updates could create problems that make them incompatible. It's hard to say yet whether Songs of the Past will mark the end of compatibility.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past is scheduled for 2027.
