Modder redesigned DOOM into a tactical shooter and showed gameplay with mechanics in the spirit of Crysis
Recently, a modder under the nickname PkmX showed gameplay of the project he is currently working on. The enthusiast decided to redesign DOOM (1993) to resemble a tactical shooter.
According to the concept, combat will be truly merciless: "players are fragile humans and die from a few bullet wounds." The author expects players to hide behind cover and "use proper room clearing techniques to maximize their chances of survival."
In the project blog "Blackout: Hardcore Tactical Mod for Zandronum/UZDoom" on zDOOM, the modder revealed some details:
Players usually move at walking speed and slow down further when carrying heavy weapons, aiming, or under other conditions. They will be able to use sprint – it will consume stamina, just like firing a weapon.
A "pain/stress" system has been implemented: when taking damage, the pain and stress indicators increase, causing "heavy breathing, camera shake, and loss of peripheral vision."

Players will have a nanosuit in the spirit of Crysis – they will be able to accumulate charge and use various abilities, such as an "adrenaline system" (which will provide temporary acceleration and resistance when taking heavy damage or having low health). There will also be an option to become "practically invisible" using a camouflage device.
