Paradox to mix Fallout with Hearts of Iron? Publisher prematurely revealed new project

News

Players learned about Afterworld earlier than intended.

Gamescom Opening Night Live is expected to start on August 25. It seems that Paradox Interactive was supposed to showcase its new project there. However, something went wrong: fans found information about the new game shortly before the announcement.

On the official Paradox Interactive forum, in the "Unreleased Games" section, next to the upcoming Prison Architect 2, an entry for "Afterworld" appeared. Some details also leaked online.

According to the description, in Afterworld, players will be invited to lead a tribe of survivors and research technologies of vanished civilizations; participate in political struggles and wars; and develop a settlement in the wastelands. Some thought that this could be a post-apocalyptic game in the style of Fallout with Paradox's grand strategy mechanics.

Nothing is known yet about the release date or release window for Afterworld; game footage has not yet been published either.

Several years ago, Paradox Interactive already released a turn-based 4X strategy game called Millennia from C Prompt Games studio. In it, players were offered to lead a country for 10 years from the "dawn of humanity to the far reaches of space."
