It seems detectives came for the one who predicted the GTA VI leak date - he started a fundraiser

In August, a hacker (or group) Cyberleek began actively publishing Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay footage online. Some members of the gaming community recalled that a user had previously said that leaks might start appearing on August 18. At the time, the publication was met with skepticism, but now it is perceived as a "prophecy."

Against this backdrop, a social media post from the elb (@@LewisBi94895348) account went viral. This user claims to be the author of the post predicting the leak date. He claims that some people recently came to talk to him. Their connection to developers at Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two is questionable — they have not yet commented.

User nothing and no one noted how quickly the situation escalated: "This story went from boring to the funniest thing ever so fast. If you told me a week ago we'd get a video of Rockstar lawyers knocking on some random Reddit user's door, I would have laughed right in your face."

However, elb soon started collecting money, so some players believe that this is a scammer trying to profit: he might have noticed the "prediction" and staged the story about the visit of "detectives."

GTA VI is expected to be released on November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Nothing has been announced yet about the PC version's release window.
