Yoniq, which is set to attend Gamescom 2026, shared a small amount of information with Retro Dodo about its new device. It introduced a portable console called Yoniq Duo, equipped with two high-definition displays with perfect 4x pixel-perfect scaling and a built-in physical stylus.
According to the developers, it combines retro charm with modern technology. Perhaps by “perfect 4x pixel-perfect scaling,” the team meant upscaling games for Game Boy Advance or even Nintendo DS.
This has already been seen in the recent KONKR Pocket Advance and is a fairly common solution in this area, so the device may well get a display with a resolution of 960 x 640 or 1024 x 768. The presence of a stylus most likely means that Yoniq wants users to be able to fully enjoy Nintendo DS projects.
Unfortunately, detailed information about the console's specifications is not yet available online. All Yoniq devices are based on Pantas — an open platform that includes an operating system, a game launcher, and the core “Pantas Bridge” technology.
It can connect to smartphones, computers, TV set-top boxes, portable game consoles, and other types of equipment within a single “gaming ecosystem.”
Users can manage their game libraries across different platforms, synchronize save files, and get a stable, seamless experience across various devices.
In addition to the stylus, the Yoniq Duo has classic buttons and joysticks, a USB-C port, front-facing speakers, and thin bezels. More complete information about the device will surely become known at Gamescom 2026, which begins on August 26.
