Gamescom Director Names Two Games Setting Industry Standards

Gamescom representatives told the media about the enormous influence of Rockstar Games' largest projects on the entire market.
Gamescom Brand Director Stefan Heikhause called Red Dead Redemption 2 and the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI the "polar stars" of the gaming industry. According to him, it is such large-scale projects that set technical standards, attract the attention of millions of players worldwide, and define the boundaries of the modern gaming industry.
Despite the fact that Rockstar traditionally does not directly participate in the German exhibition, and the release of new materials for GTA VI on Netflix almost coincides with the event in Cologne, the organizers are not afraid of losing audience attention.

In their opinion, players rarely limit themselves to one game. Even the most anticipated AAA novelty is not able to constantly hold the audience's attention. The variety of genres, mechanics, and stories leaves room for small, original projects.
